Accelerated Freefall Courses.
Whether you’ve never been skydiving before or you’ve just done a couple of accompanied jumps and are now itching to qualify as a solo skydiver, then our AFF ( Accelerated freefall ) courses are made for you. In a few short days, our AFF courses inMadrid Spain will take you, step-by-step, from absolute beginner to qualified solo skydiver.
Start with a ground school for skydiving beginners which is both theoretical and practical
The AFF skydiving ground school is designed for complete beginners. In easy to follow modules your tutor will guide you through every aspect of skydiving. You’ll become fully familiar with your skydiving equipment, freefall technique, how to fly your parachute and much more besides. This part of the skydiving course usually takes from half a day to a day. The timeframe is flexible; the important thing is that you’ve understood everything. At the end of this initial section of the course you’ll take a written examination. This serves as a useful safety checklist and ensures that you have a thorough grasp of everything you’ve learnt so far. If we identify any areas we need to focus on in the exam after retraining you can complete this section again.
Onto the Skydiving The Freefall Elements of the course.
With the AFF groundwork behind you, you’ll be confident and ready to take to the skies. At this point you might like to get into the wind tunnel to practice or we can take you straight to the sky.
Your instructors will give you clear, in-air assistance via hand signals (e.g. in the air, 2 fingers extended means push out your legs). When you’ve reached level four of the course you’ll only need one instructor. This is when you’ll learn to perform some of the more advanced techniques like turns and barrel rolls. By the time you get to level 8 (or, Graduation Level) you’ll really be strutting your stuff… but more importantly, you’ll have proved to yourself that you can skydive, on your own, confidently and with an impressive array of newly acquired skills.
Learn to fly your parachute
Many people imagine that a skydiving holiday is about basic lessons in freefall. Some think of the parachuting part as a “been there, done that, bought the t-shirt” episode to tag on at the end. Our own approach is very different. The courses we offer will not only give you the holiday of a lifetime, they’ll also ensure that you’ll have the lasting ability to handle a parachute safely and skilfully. Early in your course you will be given radio support from the ground, offering professional advice on navigation and flight patterns. As you progress, our instruction will be geared towards your becoming independent; independent enough to make your graduation skydive. Once you’ve attained solo status we’ll continue to work with you, offering further guidance on accuracy skills in particular. Our landing area is the only one in Spain and one of the few in continental Europe that meets the BPA guidelines for safety without exemptions.
We make skydiving easy – The sense of achievement.
As you progress through the lessons and grow in confidence, your outlook on freefall will be transformed from one of mild trepidation to wild anticipation. The range of emotions and beauty you’ll encounter is unbelievable,
Jumping also brings with it copious amounts of adrenalin (one of the factors that has people coming back for more and more, year in year out). One of our students summed it up nicely when he said, “I’ve done more with my life in the last few days than the last few years.
- Is the weather in Madrid perfect ?
No, but it is very good. We need not only clear skies but low winds and most days will provide opportunities for jumping. When we talk about ” required times ” we are making allowances for bad weather and slower than average progression.
- How often do courses start ?
Courses start every day. Thus availability will depend on how many spaces are available on that given day. Get in touch to confirm availability.
- Will the qualification gained in Spain be recognized ?
Our Instructors are rated both by the British Parachute Association but also the USPA or United States Parachute Association. For our international clients from around the EU and further afield you will want the USPA certification as this is a globally recognised institution and standard. As such there will be no issues with license recognition.
- I need to alter your packages , can i do so ?
Of course , our suggested packages are only a starting point , if for example you wanted to do add more tunnel time ( or take it out ) , stay extra days or have some other customization , this is not an issue.. Just get in touch and let us know how we can help.
